Description
An Edward I. Farmer sterling silver mounted Chinese mutton fat jade lidded pitcher. The silver made circa 1920, the jade earlier, possibly Qianlong period (1736 - 1795). Having the cloud work sterling base mounted atop a mutton fat jade tray in rectangular form, decorated with engraved peach gourd motif. In support of the expertly carved mutton fat jade pitcher, in beautiful color and translucence. Having a scrolled handle, high relief depictions of Chih-Lung Dragons, and finely carved lid. Silver stamped at the rim's edge: "Edward I. Farmer/Sterling". Pitcher measures approx. 8-1/2"H. Overall measurements are 9-1/2"H x 9-3/4"L x 6-1/2"W. Referred shippers available upon request.
