"""One of the earliest descriptions of the Masai by the first British Government Resident of Masailand, from 1895-1900. Sidney Langford Hinde arrived in the East African Protectorate in 1895 posted to Machakos fort. A member of the Mackinder/Hansberg expedition up Mt. Kenya, 1899. He was later made Chevalier de l'Order royal du Lion" for services in the Congo. He died 1930 aged 67". Shipped and insured by recorded delivery.
