Description
Elvis Presley's Solid 14K Yellow Gold 8" Nugget Stage Bracelet Given to J.D. Sumner W/(2) LOAs - This heavy gold nugget bracelet was worn by Elvis Presley in the mid 1970s. According to our seller, Elvis was pictured wearing the piece on several occasions wearing it with the infamous Gypsy jumpsuit in 1976. The bracelet is made of solid 14k yellow gold and has the iconic gold nugget motif, a design which was favored by Elvis and featured on many of the King's jewelry pieces. The bracelet was eventually given to Stamps Quartet front man J.D. Sumner after a concert in the mid 1970s. Sumner managed the Stamps Quartet before becoming their front man, which then became known as J.D. Sumner & The Stamps. The group toured and recorded with Presley from November 1971 until Presley's death in 1977. Sumner not only sang at Elvis' funeral but had previously sung at the funeral of Elvis' mother, Gladys, in 1958. The bracelet was later acquired by collector Mike L. Moon who exhibited the piece at his Elvis Museums for over 30 years. The sale to Mike Moon is documented in the accompanying certificate of authenticity dated June 11th, 1980, which is signed by J.D. Sumner. The piece will also come with a second letter of authenticity from "EP Archives" of Las Vegas, Nevada, indicating that the offered piece was among the items purchased from the Mike Moon collection in 2018. The bracelet measures 1"W x 8"L, is finished with a special safety catch and weighs 100.1 grams.
