Good lot of nine propaganda leaflets produced during World War II for distribution both to Allied soldiers and Italian citizens. Four are in full color and bear explicit images warning of the death, destruction and famine that will result from the Allied presence in Italy; of theses, two utilize Christmas-themed imagery, including a portrayal of Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin as the Three Wise Men, offering gifts of "Famine", "Misery" and "Slavery". An additional full-color example purports to reproduce the wallet of a British soldier killed during the invasion of Italy, reproducing his letters, family photos, and diary. An unusual full-color "slider" shows the grinning faces of Roosevelt and Churchill "before the invasion" and "after the invasion". Another uses a b/w image of a slain priest to warn against anti-Catholic Communists, while yet another praises German soldiers. The final example reproduces an American one-dollar bill, with a message on the verso stating that American values and promises are as fake as the bill. All show some signs of wear, else very good.
