Description
This lot consists of a hand executed acrylic drip painting on board, attributed to modern artist Jackson Pollock (American, 1912 -1956). "Pollock 51" hand-written in acrylic at bottom right. Strong, slashing lines of black and cherry red are juxtaposed by lighter drips of white and yellow. Looping lines of light blue and green scattered rhythmically throughout. Painting is done in the modern, abstract expressionist style for which Pollock is known. Overall framed piece measures 11.5" x 24", image sight measures approximately 8.75" x 21".
Paper label en verso reads "Collection J. Pollock" as we as another paper label which reads in part "1963 Exposition...". The rest of the label has sustained some water damage and is illegible. Also printed with ink en verso is "1951 New York". Paper tag with string that hangs from the back wire reads "Collection Pollock 1951". A yellow piece of packing tape with "Dec 22-18 Versalles" written in ink is affixed to the top of the frame.

Piece is in overall great condition. Board is strong and bears no holes or tears. Image and signature are crisp, clear and show very well.
