Handwritten attestation on patriotic stationary penned by Captain William S. Mendenhall. Captain Mendenhall was wounded in action several times during the war. Includes a reference to the 42nd PA, a regiment which Mendenhall and Cathcart were ostensibly part of before both transferred to the 97th PA.
Pension check receipt dating from 1890.
