Description
Printed circular describing the plight of James T. Taylor, a former slave who was “captured” by the 16th New Hampshire Infantry on January 1st, 1863. Taylor describes being with the regiment for the rest of war, that he was with them “through thick and thin,” and that he now desires recognition for his services.
Taylor was eventually recognized and given a pension. He is buried in Bradford, New Hampshire.
