Description
An attractive Colima-Jalisco standing pregnant woman, West Mexico, c. 100 BC - AD 250, beautifully modelled, and depicted wearing a skirt, with head band over her incised hair and necklace with a pendant in the form of a bird. Wonderfully detailed and a fantastic artistic piece with two holes through the shoulders perhaps indicating it was worn as a pendant. H: 6 1/2 in (16.5 cm). A fine example! Ex Southern California private collection acquired in the late 1960's - 80's.
