A THREE PIECE NEO GREC BLACK AND ROUGE GRIOTTE MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK WITH GARNITURE, FRENCH, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY, the arched cornice with delicately incised gilt scrolling leafy stems centering an inset griotte marble disc, above a rectangular clock case continuing incised gilt and inlaid decoration bordering a circular beaded bronze and beveled glass bezel opening to a gilt bronze egg and dart cast frame, enclosing a white enamel ring dial with black Roman chapters and blued steel Breguet hands, before a recessed white enamel face with partially exposed gilt brass clockworks and twin key escapements, verso gilt metal door opening to brass clockworks numbered "1181 / 7 7," stamped pastille "MEDAILLE DE BRONZE / S. Marti et Cie / ?," raised on a cavetto base and flaring rectangular plinth with griotte disc and incised details, lacking pendulum, height: 14 3/4", width: 14 3/4", depth: 7"; matched with a pair of patinated metal figures of a rustic youth in historic dress holding aloft a grape cluster and a rustic maiden in historic dress holding a scythe and wheat sheaf, each standing on a circular fluted pad and similarly decorated rectangular marble pedestal, height: 13 1/2", width: 5", depth: 3 3/4". Condition

Good condition with normal edge and corner nicks with some small chips, small surface scratches, beveled glass bezel has flared edge damages but appears to be old and original, dial face has illegible traces of clock retailers name, verso gilt metal door has surface rust oxidation, lacking winding key and pendulum.
