Gibson was an original founding member of The Florida Highwaymen, young 1950s and 1960s era African American landscape artists mentored by Albert Ernest (Beanie) Backus (American, 1906-1990), who was regarded as the Dean of Florida Painters. Presented in a rustic wood frame. Fair condition, with multiple areas of wear and paint loss, water staining and warping to back of board, and normal wear to frame, craquelure to top center.
