Signed lower left H. FOSTER. The artist was a contemporary and associate of Florida Highwayman Harold Newton (1934-1994), an original member of The Florida Highwaymen, young 1950s and 1960s era African American landscape artists mentored by Albert Ernest (Beanie) Backus (American, 1906-1990), who was regarded as the Dean of Florida Painters.
