Description
Anders/Andre Gisson is the brush name for Anders Gilleson, 1921-2003, born in New York, lived and worked both there and in Westport, Conn., studied at the Pratt Institute and was best known for American/French Impressionists works. This pair of City Scapes were owned by Fred A. Ossanna, of Minnesota, a well known criminal attorney. Oils on canvas, original frames, 16" wide by 12" tall art work size plus the frames, excellent condition, does not appear to have been cleaned and do not need to do so. Both paintings are likely to be Parisian scenes, one shows a Mother wearing a red hat with a child on each arm crossing a street, possibly in front of Arch d' Triomphe, horses and early cars are both on the streets in both paintings, other painting shows a tall column monument in the background with maybe a book or paper stand and figures crossing a street.
