Description
Antique Victorian Era Album quilt measuring 62 by 63.5 inches, consisting of 9 blocks, set 3 by 3, measuring 16.25 inches by 16.25 inches. Quilt was published in The Quilt Digest in 1987. It was made in Montgomery County, Maryland, now Silver Spring, Maryland and made by Amanda Collinsgru. Fabrics include silk, satin and velvet. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, hand stuffed to the max, hand appliqued, and hand quilted in large overall clamshell motifs. This is true masterpiece is women's hand work in a folk art style. Condition
Very good condition, there is some silk shattering in the stuffed areas, and one small hole in the top border.
