Description
Great WWI United States Navy wool jacket belonging to Frank Kolar (1890-1965). Patch on left shoulder appears to be the Rolling W for the 89th Infantry, possibly a field patch, there are discharge stripes and a patch on the right shoulder for Motor Transport Corps, one bronze collar pin for the United States Naval Army and one bronze T collar pin for Division Ammo and Supply Train. All buttons are present and are marked Button Works, NY New York. Inside the heavy cotton lining is a label for Henry Sonneborn & Co in Baltimore, MD, contract date of July 3, 1918.
Condition
Overall very good, burlap sewn into one side of the jacket, unsure of repair or intentional.
