Syro Hittite Terracotta Head of Astarte / Goddess, ca. 2nd - 1st Millennium (1700-1500 BC.)The head of Astarte, one of the three great goddesses of the Canaanite pantheon. In Canaanite religion she was associated primarily with love and fertility, playing the role of divine courtesan. This head fragment measures 1.75 inches ( 2.25 inches on custom display stand).
