Pair of Napoleon III Giltwood Fauteuils
mid-19th century, in the Louis XV taste, each with a shaped and padded back surmounted by a shield-form crest, joined by padded, molded arms to the cushioned seat, above a floral and foliate apron, raised on cabriole legs headed by foliate carving and ending in scrolled toes, upholstered in Aubusson tapestry featuring various flora and fauna and chinoiserie figures.

Condition
Both are in good, sturdy condition. Scattered wear from rubbing to the gilt surfaces. No sign of damage or repairs. The antique needlework upholstery has some wear but is usable and gives the chairs an overall wonderful appeal. One brace on back of chair missing. Scattered gesso loss with some inpainting.
