Description
1805 George Washington 1ed Life by John Marshall Revolutionary War AMERICANA 4v
“The Constitution is colorblind, and neither knows nor tolerates classes among citizens.”
? John Marshall
John Marshall admired George Washington greatly and sought to publish a thorough biography on the Presidents life. It was based on written records that were provided by Washingtons family. However, two-thirds of this biography is concerned with Washingtons military career and depicts an accurate portrayal of the major battles of the American Revolutionary War (Sparks, preface). Larned even notes that this work is “one of the three most famous lives of Washington.”
