NOTES / REFERENCES: Georg Klimt, brother of Vienna Secession artist Gustav Klimt, was a notable artist in his own right. He attended the Vienna School of Applied Arts and in 1896 opened his own business. Starting in 1897, his goldsmith and embossed works were regularly included in exhibitions at the Austrian Museum for Art. These circa 1910 copper reliefs, "Madchenkopf im Profil" or "Maiden's head in Profile" shows Georg Klimt's expertise at metal working and design.
Georg Klimt was a frequent collaborator with his brother, Gustav Klimt. He worked closely with his brother, producing the frames for paintings.
