Cameo ring with image of Captain George Munro of Culcairn and inscribed, on the back "Capt. George Munro of Culcairn". Unmarked as to gold content, maker, and age, but of fine quality and tests at 18k. Comes in early leather wrapped ring case. George Munro, 1st of Culcairn (1685-1745), was a Scottish Lord who fought for the Crown in the suppressions of the various Jacobite uprisings and was involved in the formation of the "BlackWatch" Highlanders.
