Description
A Pennsylvania Queen Anne Cherry Tall Chest of Drawers, Mid 18th Century. The rectangular molded top above three short drawers over five long graduated drawers and base molding, raised on tall bracket feet with spurs. Tulip poplar and pine secondary woods with full dust boards.
Dimensions: Height 59 1/2in; width 40 3/4in; depth 23 3/4in; case width 37 1/4in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface. Vertical shrinkage and age cracks to the sides of case. The top right drawer with old loss to the lip of the drawer face. The second and third long drawer with warping to the front. All drawers with lockplates, no keys. The brass hardware appears to be original, no secondary holes to drawer fronts. General marks, wear, scuffs and surface scratches.
