DESCRIPTION: Variation of a cast iron mechanical bank designed by Peter Adams for Shepard Hardware Co. depicting a seaman hurling Jonah into the mouth of a whale among stormy waves on a platform labeled "Jonah and the Whale". Lever in moves mechanism when pressed: coin is placed atop Jonah's headdress and is flung into whale's mouth as seaman moves Jonah toward whale.
