A large silver presentation salver, to Carroll Gibbons, (1903-1954), the American-born pianist and band leader, Sheffield 1948 by Walker & Hall, of octagonal form, the inscription from the Restaurant Manager at the Savoy Hotel, as a mark of gratitude to Carroll, who was a resident musician there, the silver 32 cm wide (35 ozt), together with an engine-turned silver desk jotter, present to Carroll by Stanley Holloway, a friend, with an inscription to the inside cover, a silver cigarette case, and a further silver plated presentation salve, retailed by Harrods.
