Description
Navajo silver squash blossom necklace, each bead made from Mercury dimes, mostly dating to 1930's, 8 standing Liberty quarters two dates readable 1926 and 1927. silver Naja with beautiful turquoise stone at center. Strung on old but sturdy string. 22 inches long. Not signed which is normal for this early period. From the estate of John Koehler. Collected in 1950's - 1960's when he purchased a tradding post. Mr. Koehler had a huge estate of Navajo, Anasazi, Pueblo and other Native American collectables including hundreds of Concho belts and squash blossom silver necklaces that came from the trading post. It is unknown what the name of the post was but the majority of the jewelry, belts and blossom necklaces were obviously made by the same Navajo silver smith or same family.
