Description
lacquer on three panels, 1954, signed on lower left corner Tran Dzu Hong together with red artist's seal and date MIXCLIV, decorated with six deer in a lush forest presented in lavish oranges, reds, greens, and gold, finished with a later gilt frame.
DOA 51 x 94 in.
A similar but smaller work by Tran Dzu Hong sold at Sotheby's, Lot 291, Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, October 6, 2014, Hong Kong.
From the Estate of the late Princess Lechi Tran Oggeri Rodriguez of Vietnam and Fayetteville, NC. The painting was commissioned from Tran Dzu Hong in Vietnam by her parents. A direct descendant of the Emperor of Annam, Lechi was born in Hanoi, Vietnam the daughter of the late Princess Nam Tran and the late Ambassador Tran Van Chuong.
