Description
A George I feather and crossbanded burl walnut secretary bookcase, first quarter 18th century, the upper section with concave molded cornice, a pair of blind doors each fitted with inset beveled mirror enclosing a bookcase with adjustable shelves, eight pigeon holes and three short drawers, the lower section having a hinged fall with inset tooled leather writing panel, enclosing a fitted interior with six pigeon holes and six small drawers about a central mirrored prospect door flanked by vertical pilaster document drawers with spring release, two short over three graduated long drawers below, raised on bracket feet.

Condition
In an overall restored condition. General fading to the surface overall. Scattered small losses and movement and lifting to veneers throughout, small patches. Vertical age cracks to the sides of case with filling in. The mirrored panels inset to the upper section are later additions. The brass hardware is replaced. Small brass locks are replaced. There are several other sets of plugged holes to drawer fronts. Typical dings, dents, surface scratches and small losses throughout. With keys.
