DESCRIPTION: Claude Dambreville (Haitian, 20th Century) acrylic painting on canvas depicting native female figures dressed in white dresses, and holding large baskets with fruits and vegetables over their heads. Signed "Claude Dambreville" on the lower right bottom corner.
Claude Dambreville was born in Port-au-Prince on December 17, 1934, and died on March 15, 2021. He studied drawing and painting at the School ABC in Paris, at the Art Center, and with his father-in-law, the late Haitian artist Petion Savain. He has exhibited internationally.
