The date 18-06-1967 is imprinted on the platinum-coated barrel ring in remembrance of the day Hendrix stunned his Monterey audience by setting his Fender Stratocaster on Fire. The platinum-coated cap top, crowned by the Montblanc emblem, bears an embossing of the finger positions for the opening chords of "Purple Haze" as well as a ring of violet precious resin.
