Antique Victorian Hand Carved Wood Tantalus Chest

Item Details

Description

A Victorian antique wood tantalus box, intricately crafted with a deep botanical motif relief and a Neoclassical-carved cameo to the front panel amidst scrolling designs. Hinged on each side with a metal locking mechanism securing the bottom (key not included). Opening the lid reveals eight compartments slots for liquor bottles, with additional shelf panels. It stands on four ball feet. There is no apparent maker's mark.

Dimensions: 15 X 15.5 X 12.5 in.

Condition: Good to fair condition having mild to moderate age related surface wear to exterior, while the interior is showing some losses and is requiring reattachment of some shelf elements. Please bid accordingly. Estate fresh to the market.
