Oceania, Papua New Guinea, Sepik River region, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden canoe prow of crocodilian form with a pair of abstract anthropomorphic faces protruding from the top, one of which bears a nose so large it doubles as the prow's handle. Size: 22.25" L x 11.375" W x 7.25" H (56.5 cm x 28.9 cm x 18.4 cm)
