Signed Childe Hassam ( 1859 -1935). This framed painting features a heavy impasto technique and uses cool blues and whites and some warm browns. There are three figures in a group painted in the left foreground. The painting is clearly signed and is housed in its original frame which measures 20" by 17". the painting measures 15" by 12.5". We have had 3 experts look at this painting and had 3 different opinions. 1 not an original Childe Hassam because he worked in tighter brush strokes, 2 signature is correct but is earlier before he transitioned into tighter brush strokes, 3 the signature is correct but the style is not. We are not experts at Cedarburg Auction Company, so buyer beware.
