瑞獸泥質灰陶，胎質細膩，上塗一層陶衣使之更為 美觀。獸首似牛，額生三角，目光炯炯有神，低頭 覓食，勝似閒庭信步。瑞獸體態修長健碩，翅羽攏 於體側，捲尾遒勁，神韻機警威武。

漢代灰陶多用於飲食器、盛儲器等生活用具之外， 還有鼎、鈁、壺等仿銅禮器，及建築、家畜、動物 及樂舞等類陳設用器。本品身軀渾圓，內為中空， 以陰線刻劃羽翼。並以貼塑技法表現頭部、背脊及 捲尾等細節，呈現出特有立體感，於古樸威嚴中蘊 含裝飾、鎮邪、保平安之意。
