They were very helpful
I was new to this style of on-line bidding and really didn’t understand the procedures for the arrangement of shipping. I had a few questions and needed to change my conditions a couple of times (shipping address, dealing with an item’s frame). In each case they were helpful and patient with my novice circumstance.

Barridoff admitted making a mistake in the bidding process, but refused to correct it
I bid on-line through Live Auctioneers for items in a Barridoff Auction, Aug 20th. Live Auctioneers sent me messages saying I had submitted the highest and winning bids for both. A couple of days later, I received a call from Barridoff and was told there had been a mistake, "their mistake", and in fact the bidding on one of the items was left open after Live Auctioneers was informed it was closed. The result was of course someone in-house was allowed to increase their bid and I was denied that opportunity. I was told the winner was not me but the other bidder and nothing could be done about it. I asked, if I had been present during the bidding and not bidding through Live Auctioneers would it have made a differences. I was told, yes, I would have been able to continue the bidding. That statement does not reflect well on Live Auctioneers. So, mistakes are made in this world. I accept that. But there was a solution to correct their mistake: Simply inform the in-house bidder, that the on-line bidder had been unfairly denied the right to compete. Therefore, the bidding should have been re-opened up for both parties and allow them to compete. What could be more fair than that? Barridoff was unwilling to change anything. Conclusion: 1) Barridoff has a flawed bidding process. ) Barridoff is unwilling to correct their error. 3) Live Auctioneers is not a reliable way to participate in bidding with Barridoff, given they are not synchronized with the hammer at Barridoff. 4) Therefore, Live Auctioneers is a loser; Barridoff is a loser; and I am a loser. 5) Barridoff gets an F. We certainly regret Gerry’s experience at our August 2022 auction. Obvious issues arise when someone participates in a live auction via a remote app and we have no control over LiveAuctioneers, its app or its processes, which Gerry seems to acknowledge. However, once a high bidder is recognized by the auctioneer and the hammer falls, the sale is over. Even if a mistake was made and acknowledged, by law the bidding cannot be reopened. Certainly, if Gerry was present in the room of course this would not have happened, and our advice is next time if he wants to bid but cannot be present, we recommend he register and participate as a phone bidder, a service we provide for free AND he would not have to pay the 5 % surcharge by bidding through LiveAuctioneers.

It would be helpful if you told me which auction house I am reviewing. I rated based upon my combined auction experience. I am confused and concerned when I watch an auction online for which I have placed an online bid prior to the auction, the auction houses start with my bid, not going incrementally from the starting bid, thereby inflating the price of the item. This I feel is an unfair practice.

If the bidding started at your bid, it means that either there were other bids lower than yours or your bid did not meet or was at the reserve. Otherwise, bidding starts at the starting bid and goes to at least the reserve which, if your bid was at or higher than that number, you would win at the reserve price, not your maximum price. Also, we have no control over how reviews are placed on this platform or why you don't know which auction house you are reviewing. We suggest you speak directly to Liveauctioneers for that.

I have not received the item yet as the payment process is slow (they do not accept credit cards or online payments) They only use one shipper, which is also a slow process. The shipper did not send a tracking number as promised. Not at all satisfied with the policies of this auction house
