Once again, another pleasurable transaction.

I really enjoy the auctions; good product selection, interesting props, and diverse autographed items. When this auctioneer ships flat items, they are well-packed; but boxed items have always been packed in the free Post Office-supplied boxes (lightweight ECT), and tend to take a beating. So, I contacted the auctioneer in advance to confirm that this item would ship in a durable tube, which it did, and my item arrived undamaged. Overall, this was a good experience!

I really enjoy the auctions; good product selection, interesting props, and diverse autographed items. When this auctioneer ships flat items, they are well-packed; but boxed items tend to take a beating. With this item, the photo was long enough to be rolled, but it was shipped in a cheap (free) Post Office-supplied box, with thin walls. Even though the package didn't show any damage, the photo inside was slightly crushed, and had a small crease. I flattened it out the best I could, but you can see a ripple in the paper. I love the item and would never return it, I'm just disappointed such cheap packing was used; had I been given the option, I would have paid a few bucks more for a real box.

This is one my my favorite auctioneers, and has been for a few years now. Top-quality product, nice signatures, and always deals straight-up. I like that he usually puts the location where the in-person autograph was held, because it gives a nice provenance to it. And, always, great service if I reach out to him with any questions or concerns.

Endured a lengthy and distressing experience due to a delivery issue arising from miscommunication between the site and the auction house. The item was dispatched without a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), and when contacted the aucion house the message that I got was to "look carefully inside the package." The package, however, was a simple bubble envelope. Dissapointed and not happy at all with all the process. "

The first and most important point is that the autographs must be genuine. Many auction houses sell autographs as a part of estates that they are offering to the public. These auction houses do not specialize in autographs. Piece of the Past is a well-known and well-respected autograph company and because they deal with autographs every day, they have the experience (in house) to know if the autographs are genuine even before they have an appraisal done. Their estimated price ranges are within reason. Many of the other autograph companies, that do not specialize in autographs, have outrageous prices. For example, a signed contract for Jean Harlow to work one week in a theater was being touted as worth between $60, 000 and $90, 000. This is ridiculous and makes serious autograph collectors not even want to deal with such a company, that would be so unknowledgeable about autographs, that they would have outrageous estimates of their value; just to hype the item. Piece of the Past is professional, offers quality, autographs with reasonable estimates, and they stand behind the items they sell. Kudos to Piece of the Past, Cecil
