Stars from Hollywood: the subject of our auction is MOVIES! Mainly related to American movies, but not only: Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlton Hestion, Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin... Also an outstanding portrait of Maurice Chevalier, signed and inscribed to his friend Michel Simon. This is only an overview of the movie stars you will find in this auction. Most of the lots come from the collection of Mr. Claude Armand, who used all his talent and taste to build it over the last 40 years, always choosing splendid black & white photographs. In the modern photographs' section, we have highlighted the photographs of stars collection owned by Mrs. Monique Bouquet, collection that contains beautiful original photographs realized by her late partner Claude-Bernard Hareng. The eye of the artist gives access to a more human world than the world of glory, this fleeting disease of the art. No grandiloquence in these portraits catched as a confidence, but the living presence of an emotion, an attitude or a perceptible smile (Luis Porquet, Fnac meetings Rouen November-December 1988).
