Adelaide Asian Auctions is the auction division of Source and Collect Traditionally we have sold, purchased and received consignments for antiques of any origin through our main business name of Source and Collect, although over the years we have become specialists in antiques and significant items of Asian origin, particularly Chinese antiques and jades. That led to us starting an auction division known as Adelaide Asian Auctions to offer Asian antiques, works of art and jewelry for auction. We often purchase entire / part collections and we are always interested in purchasing new collections. We also buy and sell precious metals and gemstones. Generally we sell privately and through auctions although we may list on eBay or LiveAuctioneers at times. We research our items, have our own specialist and consult other specialists when necessary to provide detailed information and dating, we always try to provide provenance with consideration of information acquired from where or whom we receive the item/s. The items we offer have been obtained through consignors, world travel, previous auction sales and reputable businesses. We understand the importance of provenance and authenticity and we do not obtain items without satisfactory provenance unless the craftsmanship suggests the item is of significance. Our History and Services Our team has over 50 years experience in antique sales, auctions and the study of antiques and objects of importance. We often travel in search of new consignments and collections for our ever changing inventory. We often receive requests for particular items from collectors and dealers, then use our resources to find and obtain the requested item/s. Over the years we have amassed a large network of dealers, appraisers, specialists and auctioneers and we will travel almost anywhere in the world in search of specific items for our clients and collections. We find items at the lowest possible price though extensive travel and searching, which allows us to offer items at well below retail rates. We often supply retail stores as we can offer a wholesale rate. We have always offered free general valuations and general advice on any pieces. Since 2013 we have offered testing services for antiques and jewelry although we specialize in jade testing. We often receive nephrite and jadeite jade, for quality and authenticity testing and we also have a portable mini lab that we use for testing at a client's location.
