About Us Jade-Carvings Factory is passionate for Jade and other gemstone materials. The company’s roots are Natural Arts (1975-1987 California/Brasil) – a high-end gem-trading company in Brasilian and African stones – and Bangkok’s GemEssence (1988-1999) a precision-cut calibrated-gemstone factory and international-marketing company. Their core values ere exquisite quality, finest workmanship, excellent value and unexcelled service. Our values at Jade-Carvings Factory remain the same. In Bangkok, GemEssence utilized Asian labor costs to duplicate the quality of German machine-cutting at a fraction of the Germany’s prices. Likewise, Jade-Carvings Factory uses the most highly-skilled Thai carvers at Asian labor costs to under-price German master-carvers in Idar-Oberstein Since 1999, owner Tom Banker has been travelling to Maesai, Thailand on the Burma border in the Golden Triangle to work with his master-carvers. For centuries, the Maesai master-carvers excelled at hand-crafting Asian sacred sculptures: Buddha, Kwan Yin, Ganesha, dragons, etc. In fact, Maesai has always supplied the Jade Buddha’s to all the Wat’s throughout Siam. Banker spent years training a number of master-carver factories to work with western and animal motifs. Meanwhile, he learned to love the sacred motif more than any other.
