Missed expectation/Lateness in Responses
I was accused of non payment. I had to provide proof of payment on my end. That made no sense. I paid on Oct 26th, and the items didn't ship until Nov. 3rd. They told me that it was going to be sent at the end of the day, two days later no follow up.

This auction house kept in great contact with me but paid little attention to packing.
They shipped a delicate Catalin radio to me from France and wanted only $50 (USD) for shipping! I offered more and sent a link specifying double-boxing and other tips. They single-boxed with a minimum of bubble wrap. Luckily, the set arrived unbroken but it was a stroke of luck; if you're a serious collector make sure they acknowledge your tips on careful packing!

A GREAT Experience!!
I am extremely pleased with the items that I received from Champagne Auctions! All of my questions wee answered, and the package was shipped quickly. Also, the packaging was super-secure, guaranteeing that the items I purchased arrived just as they were shown in the auction photos. An all-around wonderful experience. Good but amateur auction house that could improve in a couple areas
I won an antique bronze figural lamp from Champagne Auctions, and it arrived safely and I'm generally satisfied. However, well before the auction I sent two inquiries about the piece, but I never received a response. This may be because I do not speak French, but unsure. On good faith I decided to bid on the item and managed to win it. It took some time to process after payment and the only communication I received were the two invoices (second one including a shipping quote) and then a shipping notification later. Packing was adequate but could be improved; although padded, the box was small and thin, and the lamp had one free/loose piece (light cover) that should have been individually wrapped; instead it rattled around inside the bronze piece itself and could have been damaged or broken. Shipped was via FedEx and didn't take long from Montreal to North Carolina, although overall the process of bidding to receiving was about six weeks. I do appreciate that they offer in-house shipping. Would I bid with Champagne Auctions again? Yes, but only for small, not highly valuable items/pieces that aren't fragile in any way. If Champagne improved their communication (provided any communication, really) and packed more professionally, this would be a top-tier auction house.

However, I would like to bring to your attention that we replied to the message received, after a few days, we are a small work team and 100 % of our messages are answered. We also take the time to respond to each feedback. For the packaging, we have a new employee and we will strengthen the training, we send a variety of items and we try to do the best we can, but we will redouble our efforts. As for the delay, if you place your bid before the date of the auction, we unfortunately cannot advance the date of the sale for this reason. The auction was on March 29, you received a shipping quote following your request on March 4, paid by Paypal on March 5, packaged the following week, shipped on 14 and received on 20.15 days between the date of payment and receipt may not be extraordinary, but I believe that what sets us apart is that we do everything in-house and you do not need to use a third party part. Front end service... great. Shipping... terrible.
Smooth process thru bidding and payment. They shipped quickly too. I was the winning bidder for a framed artwork, under glass. It was shipped FedEx and arrived crushed. Glass completely destroyed and frame damaged. Since it was packed with ONE sheet of bubble wrap in a box with inches of space to spare... it didn't stand a chance. It was by far the most poorly packaged item I've ever received. My Grannie would have padded it better with the old kleenex she keeps in her purse. You may find something you really like but beware. Unless you can pick it up, I wouldn't recommend this auction house.
