Terrible Auction house never been met.

Trying to get help to get to the bottom of their lack of communication. I have no idea if they have the item I purchased. Even though I have paid.

This auction house does not honor the basic rules as an auctioneer, has no integrity, and feels no shame to lie. I bought the following lot, an antique Chinese eating knife, from H. Melrose Auction Inc. I made payment via paypal in December 2019, which included shipping to my address in U. S.. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/********** 2_a-chinese-inlaid-blue-stone-enamelled-knives-mark-and In January 2020, the auction house made up a story to me that the antique knife was confiscated by the Canadian customs because it was considered as a "weapon", and they were working with the Canadian customs trying to get it back. I had believed them and waited. After 4 months without any updates, I contacted them via email, liveacutioneers message, and phone call, and got no reply (the provided phone number was a fake number). Later they blocked my email. I realized they lied about the Canadian customs thing because 1) they had never provided a tracking number or any proof of the confiscation; 2) it makes no sense for an over-100-year-old antique eating knife to be considered as a "weapon" by the Canadian customs, as I previously bought antique swords from Canada multiple times and never had a problem. My guess is there was a higher offer for this lot after the auction, which was not surprising to me for the value of this knife. So they made up the story, sold the lot for the higher price while also taking and keeping my money. As I made the payment via paypal, I was fortunate to be able to open a dispute in early May 2020. The auction house did not provide any response to the dispute, and at then end of the month the dispute was closed in my favor. Before this, I had never imagined an auction house could be so shameless. I contacted liveacutioneers in this process, and got no help at all. So be aware with H. Melrose Auction Inc. If you still want to buy from them, my advice is to use paypal to protect you.

Item is diffrent from the photos (they posted photos of a diffrent items then the one we have recieved), the item shipped is fake not antique like they say in the description. The item was packed really poorly only in bubble warp no box. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED.
