I am deeply disappointed with the unscrupulous behavior and deceptive practices of this auction house. Based on my experience and the numerous other reviews I've seen, it is clear this auctioneer routinely engages in fraudulent misrepresentation of the items they sell. In my case, an item was listed as a CGC 8.0 comic book, which would normally indicate a high-value, well-preserved collectible. However, the auctioneer failed to disclose in the listing that the comic was actually a "Conserved CGC 8.0"-meaning it had been restored or otherwise altered, significantly impacting its true value. This is a clear case of false advertising and consumer fraud. Unfortunately, this seems to be a pattern of behavior for this auction house, as evidenced by the numerous other reviews describing similar incidents of misrepresented comic books and other merchandise. Bidders are being grossly overcharged for items that are not as advertised, constituting unjust enrichment for the auctioneer. I would strongly caution any prospective bidders to be extremely wary of this auction house and to thoroughly inspect any items of interest, as the auctioneer cannot be trusted to provide full and accurate information. Their actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for ethical business practices and consumer protection. I will be pursuing all available avenues to dispute this fraudulent transaction and recover my losses. I hope others will heed this warning and avoid falling victim to this auctioneer's deceptive schemes.

Buyer beware! Think twice before using this auction house!-One picture for each lot-No descriptions at all-Very, VERY poor communication-Poorly packaged shipments-until I said something about how to package properly and after a package that was not packaged properly came in damaged. An envelope containing multiple comic books with no padding or cardboard that wasn't sealed is not how you ship comic books. The list goes on. Be careful using this auction house. You're better off going to ebay or other auction sites. You'll also get better prices and customer service going elsewhere. I'm actually surprised they are allowed on Liveauctioneers considering the many poor reviews and poor service they provide.

Always impressed with the condition of all the comics I've won from Great Canadian Auctions. Sadly it takes a long time to receive my purchases. I understand that GCU has no control over this matter and won't stop me from purchasing from GCU.

Very slow to ship, sat in their warehouse for 5 weeks "awaiting" pickup. FINALLY got it, damaged of course and gotten NO RESPONSE from seller regarding that issue. Think twice before buying something from them.

I won an auction for a copy of Ultimate Fallout # 4 and paid a few hundred dollars for the copy. Upon further inspection, it's the facsimile printing that is not worth very much and can widely be bought, brand new for as low as $10. I'm still new to collecting comics, and it would have been the ethical and right thing for the auction to have listed the copy as a facsimile!!!! What a scam!

I win two comic books, almost a month goes by and still had not received and was only after I asked that shipping seemed to be in motion. The books did arrive soon after and were as pictured and described, but there seems minimal urgency or customer service there. Lesson learned for me, eh?

I won several lots of comic books, each only with a single photo of the front cover and no descriptions, as to their condition. When they eventually did arrive, there were books with undisclosed water damage, parts of pages cut out, and a ripped back cover from end to end. I emailed in about these issues multiple times, with absolutely no response back whatsoever. My worst comic-buying experience in four decades of collecting and I would not recommend this business at all-beware!

If you are a reseller, AVOID purchasing here. Even as a collector you should think twice. They have ALOT to figure out first before earning the loyalty of their customers. I have ordered over 1K worth of comics here is my experience. THE MAJOR ISSUE: [ QUALITY OF COMICS ]-They take one Picture. The cover. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. I have brought this up to the owner over there and he said they are too busy to take more pictures.-The one picture they take is TERRIBLE. You cannot see the spine ticks, you cannot see FOLDs even. The worse part is getting comics with MAJOR Water stains and four comics were missing pages, loose pages!!-They start their comics prices too high and have not adjust prices for todays lower market price: Start price + buyers premium + Shipping fees = YOU'VE PAID TOO HIGH. [ MINOR ISSUE ] [ PAYMENT ]-there is no click and pay feature. I had to find the auctioneers paypal email address in paypal and then pay.-Here is the issue: the owners paypal email address is long and in their payment email they have two email addresses that resemble each other, good luck sending the money to the right one.-[ Recommendation ] Add an easy pay button in your email invoices [ CUSTOMER SERVICE ]-I brought up all of my issues to the owner and he called with a dry and confrontational tone.-I had two comics missing, he refund one and the other comic i have not received a resolution. [ BOTTOMLINE ] THEY ARE SELLING LOW GD-FN QUALITY COMICS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR NAIVE BUYERS WHO ARE THINKING THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RESELL THESE COMICS. 40 % of the comics i purchased i took a loss on. It appears these comics are on consignment from some comic called CIty Comics and its CLEAR they are offloading comics they are unable to sell in store at these ridiculous prices they want. IF THEY TOOK BETTER photos People would not bid these comics as high.

90 % of the records I won were scratched and unusable.

This is not the first time Great Canadian Auctions have stiffed me, but it is the last time I deal with them or Live Auctioneers

Won an Avengers # 1 1963. Missing 1 wrap. Was not disclosed.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Not Recommended 1. Invoice is defective. No link or payment instructions. Refered you to their website which has NO helpful information. I had to email them to get their PayPal address. 2. After payment they become a submarine. Run silent. Run deep. No communication. I had to reach out to them and received a lame (and later found untruthful claim) that my items were being packaged and would go out that day. Lie # 1 3. Another week goes by with nothing. I reach out again and am told the carrier never picked up. (Lie # 2) 4. A few days more and nothing 🙄 I reach out AGAIN and this is where I discover that THEY DONT OWN OR HAVE POSSESSION of the items being suctioned! After you win & Pay then they go and buy from their supplier 🤬 5. "Rather than keep me waiting" they claim they're going to issue me a refund. Great. I can finally be done with these charlatans. So I think 🤔 6. Two days later I received notice from PayPal that I received a refund but it's "pending" okay it's international so maybe it takes a day or two. NO. Five days of pending and PayPal notifies me that the refund was not completed. Sean doesn't have enough 💰 in his account to cover it! 7. So I never got my refund and Great Canadian Auctions now ignores all my communications. 8. Read the reviews. It's the same complaints over and over. Poor communication, slow to ship, slow refunds and worst yet FAKE AUTOGRAPHS 😱 Why does Liveauctioneers.com ALLOW a company like this to use their site? Are the fees they get really worth ruining their reputation allowing an one man auction house like Great Canadian to swindle people 🤔 I definitely won't ever buy from GCA or their other name Canuck Auctions ever again. And unless Live auctioneers takes some SERIOUS actions to prevent this from happening again I may have to stop bidding on any of their auctions.

Would be hesitant to purchase vinyl albums in the future. Albums classified as good condition contained numerous scratches and skip when played.

Shipping takes forever, they constantly send you emails everyday to pay for your items but it takes them almost a month to ship your items to you.

The communication fell off as time went by and when it came to compensation, it was non-existent. That's not the way you do business after the buyer has purchased many times prior and after. Not one phone call after numerous messages and attempts. Really liked them, but I'm moving on to another seller.
