Excellent buying experience!!
I purchased the most amazing antique hat from Lucy at Oldthreads Antique Textiles through one of her auctions, and I am so thrilled with it! Very easy transaction and it was very carefully packed! I will definitely be coming back to buy again!

Slow shipping and expensive processing fee
Considering the high processing fee and buyers 'premium, I would have expected great service. Not so. It took a long time to get the items shipped. I emailed about the high processing fee and got a very rude response. I am reluctant to use this auction again.

Poor customer service
While the goods I received were as described and well packed the process of shipping them was very stressful and troublesome. I am an international dealer of some repute based in the UK. I have all my US purchases sent to my agent for consolidation. The owner refused to do this citing that it was "not her policy" but placing the blame upon Live Auctioneers and their security concerns. Live Auctioneers (when questioned) stated that they are a bidding platform and each auctioneer has their own shipping practices. So clearly someone was being economical with the truth. My entire raison d'etre is that having multiple small purchases arrive from overseas is expensive and inconvenient, as well as incurring a larger "carbon footprint" for my purchases. Far better to have them sent locally to a central shipping point. I bid with some of the foremost auction houses in the USA and have never before encountered this difficulty. But for the fact that this "facility" is rural I would have arranged my own shipper to collect the goods but this was not practical. The suggestion was that I change my registration for Live Auctioneers to the USA! Since I bid internationally, this would entail changing it every time I proposed to bid at an auction house in a different country. A typical example of an American who does not appreciate that there is an entire world outside the shores of the USA!
