Buyer be aware on item descriptions
I bid on a clock and won. Paid immediately. Only two pictures posted of the clock on their site and it appeared not damaged. They don't ship themselves and they referred me to a shipper. Because of glass the shipper wanted twice the amount I paid for the item to ship the glass separately from the clock. I chose the one box shipping thinking they would pack it appropriately. They didn't. Although the box they used was very large and adequate to put both items beside each other with a separation in the middle, they packed both items taped together with no separation. Then they broke a piece of the clock and taped it with packing tape on the side of the clock. A second piece was also taped the same way that I later discovered to have been broken before purchase as I enhanced the picture on their site and it shows it missing. That was never mentioned in their description of the item. After receiving the package and finding it smashed from evidently obvious mispackaging from the shipper as i explained earlier, i emailed the shipper and auction house and provided pictures of the damage and a report of the incident. The auction house here has done nothing to contact me after 2 emails. The shipper contacted me and pretty much said too bad, you chose the cheaper shipping so we are not liable. Although they clearly broke pieces off the clock and taped them together prior to shipping. And Fedex carries a minimum of $100 insurance which they refuse to file for and Fedex only allows the shipper to file the claim. Shipper never said they weren't insuring item for value paid either. One would think for $165 euros paid for shipping, insurance for value of $350 euros would be included. Buyer beware, these people are crooks and only interested in selling things and getting your money. My credit card will definitely deal with this incident.
