HERE WE GO AGAIN!
THESE GUYS ARE HORRIBLE! I wrote a previous review that was not favorable. Well, I experienced the same poor service again! Here is my previous review post. The service I received is identical to my last one.: The bidding process was great and went smoothly. I like when the Auctioneer lowers the "Asking" price when nobody has submitted a bid. However, their Shipping & Handling prices are outrageous. The total amount bid for the auction is about double after all said and done. I get that they automatically add insurance to the package, which is an option and can be removed. But remove that and the processing & handling is expensive to place a few items in a box with bubble-wrap. Would I use them again? Maybe, but I would have to REALLY want the item and know I'm paying more. On this last auction, one of the pieces that I won was damaged when it arrived. Also, the insurance isn't that much. The processing, on top of the very high Buyer's Premium is so expensive. Unfortunately, I gave them 3 stars on the last review. It wont let me change it to 1 star, otherwise I would.

Great Packaging
Item was packages so well that it survived being blown into another county due to the postal service just leaving it on the door step. The package was found by a famer 60 miles away in his fence. Item was undamaged by the time it made it to me. I would purchase from Toy in a Box again if I have the opportunity.

Toy Box is the worst
I purchased 5 autographed item that came with "COA's" Three of the COA's were incorrect and listed the wrong signature. The auction house stated that there was a problem with their data base. Toy Box Fri, Feb 17, 3:07   Pm "Dear Mark Thank you for your reply, we are so sorry you are having trouble for all of these. Real Authentic usually take 12-48 hours to reply and confirm the authenticity. As far I seen they are experiencing a technical problem with their database. I will mail them now and ask for more details. Right now, I received the problem you mentioned on Real Authentic database error. You have also mentioned you send-in to JSA and they said is not authentic. Hence, I am asking for the proof of JSA saying they are not authentic. Like a document proof or a mail from JSA. So that I can pass all these information for the consignor and notify them for a cancel order Thanks a lot" All five items FAILED authentication with JSA. JSA provided letters that detailed that all the autographs failed authentication. ALL FIVE!!! Not one passed. That means everything they sell is garbage. Do not waste you money on the trash they sell. I sent the auction house the JSA findings and surprise! No more communication from them. I was getting emails from a person named Lana, but once it was apparent that they were selling forgeries all the communication stopped. They stated that they have a seven day return policy! Well it takes longer than that to get items authenticated by professionals. "Toy Box Feb 24, 2023, 7:29   AM (11 days ago) Dear Mark We received a mail fro mReal Authentic that has fixed their technique error and replied everyone again with the right details. Please let me know did you receive them. I can also expedite the process of refund for you. Aside for the buyer premium and shipping fee that is paid for. The refund about for this order will be USD 370. I will pass this message to the consignor as well" DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Great stuff and I still paid less than other auctions
Let me preface this by saying that I am a collector, not a reseller. I like this auction house because they have a lot of items I can't find anywhere else without paying an arm and a leg. Plus shipping. As usual with Toy's auctions, I won some great stuff at fantastic prices, including things I can't find in most other auctions (like multi-signed prop replicas) and things I can't find without paying a couple hundred dollars per item (like signed record albums). Some folks have complained about the expensive shipping, and I can see why that's a problem if you only buy one or two items; but I tend to go a little crazy when I see good prices, and the reverse-auction style they use is perfect for my "sweet-tooth". I got 22 items this time, I've been saving my allowance for a couple months, searching for many of these items elsewhere. The shipping was about 30 % of my total, but I had 2 oversize items and a poster that shipped separately; yet it still worked out to be FAR CHEAPER than if I got most of the items from another auction house like Mynt. My advice is be prepared to get several items when you come to one of their auctions. If you watch the auction, you'll see some real bargains come up for pretty cool stuff. If you spread the shipping across them, and you'll find the price per item works out to be cheaper. One more thing: Someone commented about the Real Authentic COAs. I see them regularly used in auctions, and I can tell you that the signatures look real (not forged by a machine). There are slight differences you'd notice across several items signed by the same person, and you can even see the ink density change on curved letters, like you would see from a hand signing it. A machine signs from overhead using an armature and the ink doesn't show any variation in density. I have an item signed by an Auto-signer, and you can see the difference if you look closely to the characteristics I just mentioned.

Really cool stuff! Great customer service!
This is the first time I bought from this company. Great prices although shipping costs were a bit high. They worked with me to find a cheaper alternative, but they use DHL Express and it's expensive to ship no matter what you get. There was a little bit of markup on the shipping to cover time and materials, so I recommend contacting them in advance to make sure your budget includes the shipping cost. However, I can't complain because I got a couple of items "on sale" during the auction, and that offset the shipping so much that I still felt like I got a good deal. It wasn't a deal-killer for me, and overall, I really enjoyed my experience and the items I got are SO COOL and it was totally worth the money I paid. Definitely bidding in their auctions again!!

Excellent selection, great items, very good service
I really love this company! They have some offbeat items that are uncommon to find, and the items come with COAs. I have always gotten excellent response from them, and I also buy from them outside of the auction. They use a reverse-auction technique where some of the items will be offered "on sale" with reduced prices if nobody bids on them, which is great for finding bargains, but you can't always count on the item going on sale so unless you're just bargain hunting it's better to just bid on it. The one issue I have is with shipping; they use DHL and some items ship internationally from their main warehouse, which can be expensive. It's always best to contact them ahead of time to get a shipping estimate (which is another reason why it's best to bid on items before the auction instead of hoping for a deal). Overall, this is an excellent company to do business with, and I eagerly look forward to their next auction to see what neat stuff they have!!!

I'm torn.
Not sure what to say about Toy In a Box. I guess I'll start with the positive. The Sound of Music cast signed LP was perfect. Perfect shape, no bent corners, played perfectly on my record player. Quality of packaging was fantastic. Now, the negative... They say they are in Modesto, California. However, They sent an invoice via paypal. hk (Hong Kong). They shipped from Hong Kong as well. Why is this an issue? Shipping costs for one. Bigger issue is the auction picture clearly showed an original RCA U. S. code. What I received was an album with a Japanese RCA code. It's hard to miss, being on the front left corner of the LP. The booklet inside (in perfect shape mind you) was in Japanese and English. The booklet also has multiple misprints (which are cool and all-an added bonus). All in all, I feel that I got a great product, but it's not what I was lead to believe I was bidding on. Would I deal with them again? Probably not. From the high shipping costs to the misrepresentation of the product (based soley on the auction picture), I would hesitate buying from them again. I don't feel ripped off, I just feel somewhat duped, although the product I did receive was very good. On an additional note, the listing never said the product was authenticated, but it was. Although the company that did the authentication doesn't have the best of ratings, I feel the autographs are likely legitimate (to my untrained eye looking for things like weight of penmanship to examples on the internet).
