Santa Monica Auctions Annual Spring Sale
SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS is holding it's annual Spring Live Public Art Auction to take place on Sunday, June 10th at 1pm at Bergamot Station Arts Center. The sale features the work of both mid-career and established artists of all mediums including modern and contemporary painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, multiples and prints. Highlights from this sale include two untitled mixed media on canvas works by Barry McGee circa 1990; Pablo Picasso's Le Picador II from A los Toreros avec Picasso lithograph from 1961; Finger Pointing, a 1973 screenprint by Roy Lichtenstein, an 1996 untitled pencil drawing by Jim Shaw, a lithograph and original publication from 1980 by David Hockney entitled Paper Pools, and Joan Miro's Le Lezard aux Plumes d'Orby lithograph from 1971. Many rare and important prints by modern masters like Man Ray, Jasper Johns, and Wayne Thiebaud will also included.
Unlike other auction houses, SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS will take significant works for consignment right up until the date of the sale so there are always last-minute surprises. Live previews are ongoing now in our galleries and our catalogue can be viewed online on our website.
We look forward seeing you at the Sale on Sunday, June 10th, at 1pm and continuing all afternoon.
