The auction will take place on June 9th at 3 PM. Bidding will happen through Live Auctioneers, and the catalog will go live 3 weeks prior to the sale. The auction features fine art, including a large masterpiece by Lewis Henry Meakin, a winter scene by Carl Peters, and an original watercolor drawing of a cartoon by Harold Tucker Webster. Additional fine art offerings include paintings from various collections throughout the midwest, and a series of over 20 works of art by color-field painter, William Downing. these are the only paintings William Downing ever produced, and they will all be sold in this auction. Each piece was done between 1967-1969. Also featured in the sale is a large collection of Americana from Columbus, OH. Multiple intricate sailor valentines, as well as 19th century portraits, stoneware, porcelain, scrimshaw and more will be included from this collection. A collection of over 50 antique maps will be offered for sale in groups and in single lots. The maps were collected by 20th century cartographer and member of the U.S. Geological Survey, Glen F. Brown (1911-2001). Additional items include an antique Leica camera with accessories, works on paper, prints, bronzes and more.
