Fine Winchesters Auction

In an event that will set the standard for high-art Winchesters, Lewis & Grant Auctions is proud to present seventy of the famous arms maker's work, including the finest pieces ever to be offered at auction. The May 6th Fine Winchesters Auction will be a sale of a lifetime, with most of the pieces being offered for sale for the first time in a generation, if not completely new to the market. Preview available by appointment and online at LewisAndGrant.com. While each piece is a feature lot in itself, several stand-outs include a gilt and engraved Henry Rifle (Lot 20), an incredible gold inlaid Model 21 Shotgun (Lot 19), and a Grade 1 Model 1886 Rifle engraved by J. Ulrich (Lot 30), just to name a few. Aside from the exemplary examples of the artistic value of the Winchester brand, there are several pieces that hold an equally historical appeal for the studious collector. This auction also features an example of the famous Briggs Patent Rifle presented by Oliver Winchester to G.W. Briggs, the only one of its kind (Lot 39); as well as the famous "Foot Guards" Model 1876 Rifle, engraved by master engraver John Ulrich (Lot 40); and the extravagantly engraved "Sultan of Turkey" Model 1866 Carbine meticulously chiseled in high relief style -- one of only two presented to the Sultan and the finest example thereof (Lot 21). Also of great importance is the Model 1910 Self-Loading Rifle of King George V, being offered for the first time since it was purchased by an American collector in 1960 (Lot 33), as well as a special presentation-grade Model 1892 Carbine presented to an officer in the 1st New York National Guard (Lot 10). Lewis & Grant Auctions is honored to present for your consideration this unequaled collection of Winchester's finest works. Preview available by appointment and online at LewisAndGrant.com.
