Featuring a quality sale including a 12th Street NYC collection amassed in the 1970's,80's from some of the finest antique galleries in the city. 19th century continental furniture, artwork and decorative accessories, antique 8' x 13' Heriz, bronzes, and a collection of early Chinese artifacts. From an old Marlboro NY 1880's rooming house comes a heavily carved nine piece oak dining room set having fully carved knights in armor and several pieces of American 19th century furniture. A large quantity of sterling silver from Somers and Poughkeepsie estates is led by a pair of London candlesticks dated 1766 as well as a covered tureen by London maker Walter Prosser and includes sets of flatware and several lots of hollow ware. A Ridgefield Ct. estate yielded a rare pair of L&JG Stickley even arm settles in leather, a morris chair and a signed two tier lamp table as well as other Arts and Crafts pieces. Offerings of Mid Century design pieces include a lamp table by Robsjohn Gibbings for Widdicomb, set Brno chairs, steel and brass glass top coffee table signed Silas Seandel and dated 1976, Oscar Boch bronze lamp, Saarinen for Knoll chair and table and other notables.
Two oils from a Mahopac estate of a former NYC opera singer are sure to garner attention. The first is an iconic 30 x 36 inch oil by noted WPA artist Paul Meltsner, the other is a 17x30" oil on masonite signed by NYC African American artist Ellis Wilson "Going Fishing" with Barnett Aden Gallery label
Among the other highlights are art glass lots by L.C. Tiffany, R. Lalique, Schneider, and Galle and among the porcelain items and exceptional enameled and gilt French column clock under dome.
