Kennedy`s Auction Service is honored to sell the estates of John Quincy Wolf Jr. and Alexander Clyde McGinnis. John Quincy Wolf was head of the English department at Southwestern in Memphis, a noted author and music historian. Alexander Clyde McGinnis was a Real estate broker, WWII Veteran, historian, Independence County Chronicle Editor, and former supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration in Independence County. Items from the collections include such lots as John Thelwall, 'The Peripatetic,' 1793 3 Volume Set; Alexander Campbell, 'Christianity Restored, Containing the Millennial Harbinger, Revised and Corrected,' 1835; large library of scarce Civil War historical volumes such as Edwin H. Rennolds, 'A History of the Henry County Commands.' 1904, Mrs. Ellen Williams, 'History of the Second Colorados,' 1885, J. B. Polley, 'Hood's Texas Brigade,' 1910, Henry George, 'History of the 3d, 7th, 8th and 12th KY. C.S.A.,' 1911, and much more; M. W. Gibbs, 'Shadow and Light,' 1902; and a very large collection of Arkansas History books including a complete set of Goodspeeds Arkansas Histories. The complete auction is not online for internet bidding, 200-300 lots will be sold to on-site bidders only. Because of the massive amount of the material being offered the auction cataloge will not be completed before Monday the 15th of April.
