A good 18th century ebony veneered, quarter repeating table clock, circa 1725

the 5.5 inch arched brass dial with a large date ring flanked by subsidiaries for strike/silent and rise-and-fall-regulation marked to 40, Roman and Arabic chapter ring with lozenge half-quarter marks and floating fleur-de-lyse half-hour markers, each ring with matted centres and blued steel hands, signed in a polished shaped reserve below XII Dan: Quare, Ste: Horseman, London, 264. The twin chain fusee movement united by six knopped and ringed pillars, now with anchor escapement rack striking the hours on a single bell and repeating the quarters on a run of six bells and hammers. Ticking, striking and repeating, together with a door key, winding key and pendulum. 43cms (17ins) high.
