Measurements: Height: 21 cm Diam: 18 cm
Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Blue and white dragon pattern high bowl. Potted with a shallow body, has an open mouth, slight flaring mouth rim, deep arced body, with dome lid and raised on splayed high foot bowl, also known as Ba Wan, date back to Yuan Dynasty. This bowl in blue and white fine color, is an excellent object on exterior with delicate scrolling floral, key fret, auspicious pattern and the dome lid with the Imperial dragon are swimming in floating clouds, flame, above lishui waves. Which attracting unceasingly admiration. The clouds and dragon patterns are vivid and have distinctive characteristics of the times. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The shape is regular, the craftsmanship is excellent, the style is solemn and elegant, and it is not limited to small details. It is a fine work.
The underside rim is unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
