Oversized sheet, measuring 28.25" x 7.5" (sight), Great Britain rights reserved, copyright 1930. A large print comic strip by Cliff Sterrett, dated August 2, 1930. Polly and Her Pals, featuring the characters Polly, Paw, Gertrude, and Skunk, in which Pa tries to bring Skunk a neighborly gift basket. Matted to the overall size of 32" x 11.5". Stamped on verso, with additional writing, "He knows when he's [illegible]." With edge toning, else very good.
"Polly and Her Pals" ran from December 4, 1912 to December 7, 1958, and is regarded as one of the most graphically innovative comic strips of the 20th century. Cliff Sterrett originally released the comic as Positive Polly in William Randolph Hearst's newspapers.
